Parent Information Voicebank

A dedicated telephone number that parents and guardians can call to listen to up-to-date information. Relieving the school receptionist of having to deal with any regularly repeated telephone call questions.

For example on bad weather days parents need to know if the school is open. With many parents trying to call the school the line/s can get jammed quickly not to mention the actual task of the reception answering the calls, all asking the same question. Instead parents could call the schools pre-advertised information line and listen to the recorded information.

Any teacher, etc, with the necessary pincode access can call into record information live onto the system from any landline or mobile, so a teacher can record information direct onto the system no matter where they are – call in from home or even leave updates whilst on a school trip, for example estimated return time updates, and so on.

Callers to the system are asked to select the information topic that they wish to listen to from a menu option list using their telephone keypad. The most recent information recorded under each option is played first, each recording being date and time stamped.

Student Information Line

For secondary schools, colleges, and universities, the same system can be used to enable specific departments to be able to communicate on mass to the required students, for example, the A-level English Language Department may have their own system on to which they can record the latest information that students may require, ie, coursework deadline dates, exam timetables, and so on.
